Introduction

The Shicchy's Charity Fair, a large-scale luxury goods sale, is organized by the Jonan Pawnshop Cooperative. Pawnshops are where individuals pledge high-value goods in exchange for loans. Each year, with many unredeemed items, this organization manages various pawnshops and sells the unredeemed goods at the venue. The products consist primarily of jewelry, luxury watches, and designer bags, priced at 30% to 90% off market value. Since 1972, the sale has been held every November and June; it is now in its 87th edition, with each event featuring up to 100,000 items. The Jonan Pawnshop Cooperative donates 200 million yen of the proceeds to charity, attracting many foreign tourists to come and shop. The golden rule is to wake up early on the first day; the last time I arrived at 11:00 AM on the first day, I had to wait in line for 6 hours before getting in—it was a painful experience.

 

My Strategy

1. You must go on the first day! Replenishment is rare and new items aren't constantly added, so the best and most beautiful pieces are definitely available on day one! The event is now widely known among people from mainland China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, and many friends say it's become very difficult to find their preferred items. Most products are purchased at 70% of the price found in second-hand shops; by comparison, a 30% discount is less appealing than just choosing the items you truly love.

2. As a second-hand dealer, is it worth going? That depends on your passion for second-hand goods. The queue is now excessive; you have to decide if it's worth spending 8 hours at one location just for a small discount. Honestly, compared to our wholesale prices, the cost isn't that attractive. After going once, I personally stopped recommending this auction (I can get better deals every week, so why spend 6 hours in line? I was so annoyed last time!).

Highlights of the Second-Hand Luxury Sale

Each Shicchy's Charity Fair includes a variety of products ranging from designer bags like Hermes, LV, and GUCCI, to jewelry, luxury watches, furs, leather clothing, and Japanese treasures. Here are some key points to help you navigate the shopping spree.

1. Designer Bags There is a dedicated section for Hermes with various bag models. The sale includes popular Birkin and Kelly styles, and while the prices are indeed second-hand market prices, many bags are in excellent condition. I previously posted a picture on our fan page filled with LV bags; there were about 4,000 items on-site, ranging from wallets and bags to luggage and accessories. Prices were sometimes cheaper than cosmetics—definitely a great choice for gifts for family members.

2. Jewelry Most of the jewelry prepared for the sale consists of accessories and precious metals, including diamonds, sapphires, rubies, pearls, and other precious stones. For brand lovers, I still recommend browsing the jewelry area; you might find simple and elegant styles, or pick up a piece or two to keep and wear.

3. Luxury Watches The official website mentions brands like Rolex, TAG Heuer, Seiko, Bvlgari, and Chopard, with models for both men and women. I personally like to dig for jewelry watches; some are definitely worth purchasing.

The second-hand luxury sale is held this year at Ota City Industrial Plaza PiO, about a 350-meter or 5-minute walk from Keikyu Kamata Station.

Shopping Tips

There are many Chinese-speaking staff on-site. I recall that staff badges indicate the languages they speak; if you have any questions, please be sure to ask the staff for assistance and communication.

Upcoming Event Dates

The 2026 autumn sale is scheduled for November. Opening hours are from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with the final day closing at 3:00 PM. If you want to get in on the first round of bags, I suggest arriving around 6:00 AM on the first day!

Are there any counterfeit goods?

These pawnshops are well-established brands, and items are screened by professional appraisers. Furthermore, appraisers are stationed on-site for secondary verification. Given the long history of this event, you can shop with peace of mind.
